Tasting Note: This rich Malbec has a deep reddish-purple colour and aromas of ripe black fruit and red plum. Smooth and concentrated tannins in the mouth result in a long and firm finish with minor hints of oak.
Accolades: The 2018 CV (Curriculum Vitae) is a field blend from 80-year-old vines aged for 21 months in 75% new French oak. It comes in at 14.9% alcohol. This is very fine, closer to the 2016 than the 2015 in this grouping, but a little too oaky to reveal everything it has. There is great fruit under there, but it's going to need a few years to show what it has. Then, it likely seems brilliant. Sock it away for a couple of years. - Robert Parker
